You're right about number 3 -- it's probably best to use that one when it's part of a larger project: a massive term paper, for example.  If you tackle revision first, then drafting will seem easy by comparison.  But I agree that it's hard to switch gears, and that strategy may not work for every person or every project.

		<description>Great recipe for being a productive writer! N2 was new to me and I want to use it as I can see the benefits. 
I have troubles with N3 though, as I find it difficult to take my attention from drafting to revision. It might be because I dread more of revision (aka - get it done right!) rather than drafting :)</description>
