Hello! I am a relatively new reader here, and i'm loving what I see so far, so I definitely want in on the Writers' Circle. Right now I'm concentrating on blogging, but I've also dabbled in fiction, journalism, and poetry -- not much published, sadly. Two things I'd like to boost are my output and my confidence.

So my goals for March are three: catch up on my primary blog, get at least three more posts ahead of myself so that I can start my new blog on my birthday (early April), and write at least 1000 words towards my fiction story.

Tonight: I will transfer my notes to Google Docs so I can work on the road.

This week: At least one entry for each blog, and at least 200 words on the story.

Next Week: At least one entry for each blog, and at least 300 words on the story.

Wish me luck!

Goals:
Improve writing (obviously)

Projects:
Current blog -- Maintain. Move away from 'stream of consciousness'
New site -- Create basic structure, create first articles

Action Plans:
Maintain current blog:
Continue to post once per week or once every other week. Introduce a planning stage and improve proofing stage.
Create new Site:
Create outline of site's structure.
(Semi-related to writing: create visual design.)
Create a skeleton outline of an article's template.
Create outlines of initial articles and tutorials.
Figure out specific topics for articles.

Motivation Methods
Do It Now. Set aside time in the mornings specifically for working on new site. Set days of week for specific tasks.
Set Deadlines. Outline of site's structure on paper (not in digital format... real wood fibers with ink) by March 16th. Skeleton of future outlines on paper by March 20th. Visual Design on paper by 14th, in code by 18th. Outline of first article on computer by 22nd. Rough Draft of first section by 24th, second section by 28th, third section by April 5th. Proofing of article (including peer review) done by April 10th.
Reward Myself: If I accomplish a task early, and I don't have a next task scheduled to start right away, then don't start the next task unless really motivated. Instead, play Guitar Hero, or if we have bought it by then, Rock Band.
Sharpen Saw: 1/5th of time spent on project should go towards researching semi-related information, such as this site.

The site that I'm creating will be a place to learn how to code, from the lowly HTML that creates the backbone of the Web to more lofty and "hardcore" programming languages that take months, if not years to learn. The information will be presented in tutorial format with an emphasis on show-then-do. Each article will be divided into three sections: basic, intermediate, and super-nerdy. Basic will be for the visual learners, intermediate will be for learning some more subtle nuances, and super-nerdy will be for people who want to know the underlying why or the extreme situations.

I have changed my URL attached to my name in order to reflect this new site.

I do have a question, given the scope of my new project... Which is better, to be personal or impersonal in my articles and tutorials? I'm presenting a lot of objective information, but I would also like to include subjective information, especially in the super-nerdy versions of each sub-topic. Also, while I am treating it as a professional endeavor, it is still my personal experiences that I'm relating.
